FAMILY CLASS SPONSORSHIP
The following are examples of how family members can be sponsored by the Family Class Sponsorship Program:
Spousal Sponsorship
Marriage, common law, and conjugal relationships (including same-sex relationships).
Parent and Grandparent Sponsorship
Bring your parents or grandparents permanently in Canada. Parents or grandparents can be sponsored by citizens or permanent residents.
Dependent Child Sponsorship and Other Sponsorship
Canada offers its citizens and permanent residents a route to sponsor their dependent children. Adopted children and other orphaned family members are included. Sponsorships can be extended to other family members under exceptional circumstances.
Parent and Grandparent Super Visa
A super visa, which can last up to 10 years, is another option to sponsor parents and grandparents to visit Canada for up to two years at a time.

Who can be a sponsor?
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Be of 18 years of age or older
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada
- A person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act
- Meet certain required income levels to prove they can financially support the family member(s)
- Additional requirements may be imposed depending on who is being sponsored
- Sign sponsorship agreement
- Sponsor must be living in Canada, if not residing in Canada when submitting the application, Sponsor must demonstrate that their intentions are to reside in Canada with the applicant. (This applies for Spousal Sponsorship). PR cannot sponsor while residing outside Canada.
